Cochons Pursuit Development : 80% Finished
Hi everyone ! With the new website released, I’m happy to show you how the new Cochons Pursuit’s development is going.
A remake from the old game…
Last fall, I learned a new technique to make more polished and professional graphics. At that time, Cochons Pursuit was finished since about a year, but I decided to restart all the game with the new graphical style… At first, I tought it would take about 3 months to do that, but during the development I haven’t been able to resist the temptation to add a lot more features to the game. With my second game ” Save the Planet” , I learned a lot about programming and making a professional game, so it was interesting to work on an old project again with my new skills. Right now, it’s been more than 6 months since I restarted working on the Cochons Pursuit, and the final version is about 80% finished.

The ( buggy ) 3 Levels Demo
Last Fall, I released a 3 levels demo for the 2nd 2BeeGames.com contest, which went through the top 10 finalists. Sadly, the game hasn’t been played a lot because the demo had been rushed and was very buggy. There was a lot of last minute bugs in it, and the game was crashing often due to the game being in a transition state. ( The game was still containing all the old resources from the 2008 version ). A new version of the 3 levels demo, which will run a lot faster, without bugs or crashes, will be posted on the website soon.
The Development
My main objective right now is to make every level unique to keep the player entertained ’till the end. I’m also trying to make somes enemies stronger instead of just putting a high amount of them in the screen at the same time. The environment of the whole levels have also been reviewed and they are playing a bigger role in the action. I am currently working on the 7th level of the game on a total of 8. It is not sure yet, but I will try to work on a bigger online score system, including individual levels’ best scores.

Some of the enemies are now stronger, instead of appearing a lot on the screen at the same time.

Each level is more unique than before, like the Ice Cavern that features glowing light effects on the enemies.
The Release Date
It is still unknown when the game will be ready to launch, but I can assure you it will not be later than Q2 2010. I’m thinking about releasing the game for free, letting the players give how much they want to pay for the game… That way, the game shall get known more on the internet, and we will probably see more peoples sending their best scores online. Stay Tuned for more!
